Thank you so much for this piece. Personally I find that while IBPOC does a great job of highlighting the specific and insidious discrimination and violence indigenous people face I feel that POC, which I would be labelled as under this naming convention, only serves to reinforce the concept of race as a valid basis for othering. I prefer the term racialised as it makes the origin of racism much clearer. I’d love to talk you about this done more. One of the things I’m currently working on is a data analysis project around the use of the term non-white on Twitter that might be of interest. Hope you are well in these uncertain times!
